today we have the pleasure of introducing a new author.

it’s a bit of a risk because we don’t really know the guy.  and he wasn’t overly excited about the proposition of writing with us, but that’s cool.  he’ll soon realise how awesome this is and his life will never be the same again.  also, it’s probably not very manly to jump for joy like we first did when we conceived this web-blog of delight.  and also we hadn’t fed him nearly enough food or given him nearly enough (or any) …

traveling is a whole different deal now to what it used to be. with technology where it is, its almost as if i haven’t even left home, even though i am about as far away as i could be.

the fact that i talk to my mum more now than i did when i was living with her, and the ability to have 4 hour long face to face conversations with friends in other countrys, well it almost irks me.

mulling wine

we have 2 new goals for this winter.

1. find the best mulled wine recipe

2. drink lots of mulled wine

so to begin this adventure we purchased FOUR bottles of the cheapest bottom shelf wine we could find.

$34 later we began batch number one with the $6 bottle:

life just got so much better.

the purchase of my spiffing new gummys is one of the highlights of the winter. and the joy that walking down the road in a summer dress, woolen tights and gumboots – stomping in every puddle – brings, well…a joy i cant describe.

Hello winter. i am ready for you.

bad boot puns i did NOT use in this post include but are not limited to:

boot-a-licious

its a boot time (canadian boot pun)

oot and a boot (another canadian one)

sometimes spam comments are so enlightening you want to share them with the world.

todays spam comment:

“I read about an actuary who calculated that the odds of a man’s trousers falling down if he was wearing both a belt and suspenders was about 35,000 to one. What would be the odds of a man’s trousers falling down while wearing only a belt? What about only suspenders?”

i often wonder such things…

i am so slack.

i never finish anything i start.

and that’s what makes these little gloves even more exciting and beautiful.

it helps that they are so small they only took me a couple of hours to do all up. although my first attempt i made them a little too small and i had to undo them all and start again.

i made them for the girl i nanny, shes 8 and surprised me when she chose black, but that’s the kind of classy wee lass she is. they are going to be …

pamela: hey tess, what should we write for our first post?
[silence]
pamela: tess. tess. tess. tess.

pamela: what should we write for our first post?
tess: um… i dunno.

[silence]

pamela: think of something!
tess: ok. how about we talk about how we want to start a knitting club?
pamela: that’s lame.

[silence]

pamela: how about we explain why we called this ‘a boy in our closet’?
tess: ok, sounds good.
pamela: or we could talk about how we sleep together?
tess: ok, sounds good.
pamela: or we could write about how you want those cute new shoes?
tess: …
